Sizing Box

1/30/15: Finally got out to unload and get some idea of where to start. Cutting the sides to length, removing the tailgate and even separating the springs from teh axel I got with it was a given.

Showing the side after cutting the box to length. Did not cut off what frame was left thinking I may decide to use as part of the rebuild.

Not quite sure what I can salvage & utilize of the frame but am gonna give it a try. I’m thinking I may turn the rear into the front end so I can use what’s left of the frame to build the tongue.

Bantam Cason: Bought it where it lays on 15 Jan 2015. There is a tailgate, tie downs and stake racks - plus a lot of extra bolts & bolt holes. Figure I can handle the repairs but a new floor will be a must.

Bantam trailer bed as purchased from Midwest Willys. Pretty rough shape for $150.00 but I wont’ have to destroy a good, salvageable trailer to get where I want this one to be. The section cut out of the right rear side should not present a problem since I’m going to shorten the box anyway.
